Making Money out of Singing

I would like to apologise for the delay of this month’s post, but life got in the way, as it does.

In this month’s blog post I will make a small list of jobs that singers can pursue, that hopefully can help you open your horizons, learn something new or hopefully earn some extra cash from what you love doing the most, Singing.

A singer’s income does not only have to come from performing, there are other options that you can try full time, or as a side job. Fortunately or unfortunately, with singing there are two types of jobs. The ‘work and get paid right after’ job type, and the ‘work hard for some time and eventually start making an income’ job. Whatever it is that you do though, always remember every experience is good for your growth and your identity as an artist.

SO What are these singing jobs you may ask?

Don’t worry, I did the searching job for you, but I won’t give you all the info you may need. I will only give you the job titles, not because I’m lazy, but to help your learning process, mindset and method of exploring improve. If you don’t search you don’t learn.

Here’s the deal. I am no expert (who is?), I am a 24 year old Artist / Singer / Voice Teacher who is not always right, (who is?), is still learning , making mistakes, sharing her work, experience and knowledge with you. But I do know that I work hard and always try at least to be original and good with what I do. Covid 19, and all the lockdowns gave me a lot of time to think, explore, change my mindset and create. But this blog is not about me, its about YOU!!!

I will link some of my creations that will hopefully inspire you too, in order to create and develop your own ideas, at the bottom of this page.

I really hope that you got something out of this, and that you get the chance to start exploring and earning more money without having to get a second job that has nothing to do with music. Before you go.. I will give you three tips that changed my mindset as well, and made me realise a couple things, and helped me be more productive/creative with my work.

Firstly, take the time to figure out what makes you stand out as a singer and a musician, and what you are mostly good at. Secondly think about how you can use these things to your advantage, to create whilst keeping your character. Lastly, take advantage of technology, social media and online resources. This field is limitless so keep exploring, think outside the box and i can guarantee, that you won’t lose.
